Mary Ellen Freeman, 90, of Terre Haute, passed away Fri., Feb. 3, at Providence Health Care at St. Mary of the Woods.

Mary Ellen was born in Terre Haute on April 19, 1926, to Noble Wedgewood and Ruth Alvey Wedgewood.

She was a lifetime member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, where her ministry was volunteerism for the church.

She retired from St. Patrick School where she was school secretary. She was formerly a volunteer at St. Patrick Soup Kitchen, and enjoyed gardening and spending time with children, grandchildren and family.

She was a 1943 graduate of Honey Creek High School and Indiana Business College.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Noble and Ruth Wedgewood; her brother, Jack Wedgewood and her husband, Charles Freeman, who passed away Dec. 20, 2008.

Survivors include a daughter, Sally Billings; her husband, Brad, of Elkhart, and a son, Charlie Freeman and his wife, Sandy, of Terre Haute.

Four grandchildren survive, Drew Billings, Evan Billings, Joshua Freeman and his wife, Emily, and Ashlee Freeman; two great-grandchildren survive, Brylee Freeman and Keegan Freeman, as well as two nieces, Jackie Rocha and her husband Arnold, and Cherrie Berg and her husband Scott.
