Mrs. Mary S Nixon died peacefully October 10, 2015 in her home in Moreland, Ga. Mrs. Nixon was 90 years old. Mrs. Nixon was preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Nixon, her parents Elizabeth and David Stevens and her grandson Patrick Ray Nixon. Mrs. Nixon is survived by her sister Mrs. Carolyn Shaw, her son David S. Nixon, grandson Joseph P (Wendy) Nixon, nieces, Judy ( Tom ) Taylor, Jean ( John ) Streatfield, Mary Louise Nixon, Mary Louise (John) Broach, Virginia (Walt) Knight, nephew Bill Shaw. Additionally, many close friends mourn her passing. After her husbands passing in 1970 Mrs. Nixon worked for first Harpers Florists and then Reliable Supply Co. until her retirement.

Mrs. Nixon was very accomplished in several art forms including ceramics and painting. She was also an avid game player, including Bridge and Backgammon. She was a very competitive in her gaming! She was always available to her family and friends in their times of need and in friendship. It was also always known that if you didn’t want her opinion on something then don’t ask. She was always so very honest and frank in her opinions and advice. Another reason she was so loved.
