Mary Elaine Knight passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019 in Lone Tree, CO at the age of 72 after a long, 16 months, battle with glioblastoma.

She is survived by her 3 adult children, Gia, Kristen, and Devin; 3 siblings, Tom, Ed, and Andrea; 3 grandchildren; 8 nieces and nephews; and a staggering number of beloved family and friends.

Mary was born, the youngest of four children, on April 26, 1947 in rural Buffalo, OK to Andrew and Lucille Roetker. After high school graduation in 1965, Mary attended Northwestern State University in Alva, OK for a time with thoughts of possibly becoming a teacher. While life took a slightly different path, through marriage, divorce, and raising children, Mary’s career path would see her pursue opportunities in residential and commercial real estate, office management, and executive head hunting, before ultimately earning her Bachelor’s Degree in HR from Colorado Christian University in 1990.

Mary had long held the belief that people are our world’s most precious resource. It was that guiding principle that inspired her tireless work ethic and made her one of the best Human Resources professionals in the business. She absolutely loved the opportunity to help people realize their potential and connect them for success, whether personal or professional.

To the end, she was a shining example of the power of positivity. Despite the many challenges and devastating setbacks she endured throughout her illness, she maintained the same warm affable southern charm, positive energy, and elegance that enchanted everyone she met.

She left the world a better place by being in it and will be greatly missed.
