Mary E. Slott, 88, of South Bend, IN, passed away 11:55 a.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2006, in St. Pauls Retirement Community. Mary was born on July 18, 1917 in South Bend to James Harrison Moody and Anna Louise (Stage) Moody. In 1936, as Mary E. Moody, she married Edward DeFreeuw, who preceded her in death in 1937. In 1939, she married Emanuel J. Slott, who preceded her in death on August 19, 1987. Also preceding her in death were a step-son, Donald Slott; a granddaughter, Deborah Banicki; and a brother, Eugene Moody.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Lawrence) Banicki of South Bend, IN and Jacqueline (David) Maez of South Bend, IN; one son, Barry (Kathy) Slott of South Bend, IN; one daughter-in-law, Susan Slott of Jasper, IN; nine grandchildren, Michael Banicki, Pamela Walkowiak, Kenneth Banicki, Cheryl Hutchinson, David Maez, Dean Maez, Mark Maez, Bradley Slott, and Marty Slott; three step-grandchildren, Marsha, Danny, Lisa and their families; twelve great-grandchildren, Stacey, Michael, Jennye, Scott, Lindyse, Kourtney, Chris, Aaron, Brooke, Shawn, Chris, and Tori; three great-great-grandchildren, Jordon, Rilye, and Emma; and by two brothers, Murray Moody of Indianapolis, IN and Robert Moody of South Bend, IN.
