Mary E. Rathbun, 84, of 602 21st St., Peru, died peacefully January 16, 2016 at 6:13 PM surrounded by her family in St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.
Mrs. Rathbun was born on September 15, 1931 in St. Louis, MO to Bernard and Agnes (Conway) Vogel. She married William Rathbun in 1949. She worked as a dental assistant for many years.
Mrs. Rathbun is survived by two daughters Patricia (George) Leynaud of Peru and Mary Kathleen (Eileen Loechel) Rathbun of Oak Park; two grandchildren Chase Leynaud of Studio City, CA and George William “G.W.” Leynaud of Peru; one brother Donald (Ethel) Vogel; three sisters Caryl (Donald) Funke, Sandra (Gus) Broset, and Kathie (Earl) Pratt, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband William on January 19, 1991, three brothers Bernard Vogel, Eugene Vogel, and Joseph Vogel, and one sister Eileen Bartolt.
