Mrs. Mary E. Smith MacInnis, age 90, of Milford, Connecticut, formerly of Fairfield and Marco Island, FL, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2009 in Milford Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Daniel G. MacInnis Jr. She leaves behind children and spouses Donna M. Smallwood (John W.) of Hingham, Massachusetts. Daniel G. MacInnis III (Patricia A.) of Noblesville, IN and Patricia E. Sawitzke (Richard L.) of Glastonbury, CT. She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren: Carrie (Nick) Heimlich of Caledonia, Ohio, Heather (Gary) MacInnis of Noblesville, IN, Sarah MacInnis (Matt Stach) of Lebanon, Indiana, Brian (Rachel) Smallwood of Brooklyn, NY, Eric Smallwood of Boston, Massachusetts, David Sawitzke of Glastonbury, CT and Kristin Sawitzke of Brighton, Massachusetts. She also enjoyed four great-granddaughters: Emma and Anna Heimlich of Caledonia, Ohio, Mary MacInnis of Noblesville, IN and Ada Stach MacInnis of Lebanon, Indiana.
Mary was the daughter of George L. Smith and Mary Kane Smith of Bridgport, CT. She was the former president of the Mother’s Club at St. Charles Catholic School, Bridgeport, President of the Ladies’ Guild and on the Parish Council at St.
Mary enjoyed a deep love of her family, her beloved beach, and her creative arts.
