Those left to honor Mary’s memory include her two sons–John (Rose) Long of Newton and Jeff (Krissy) Long of Newton; her special grandson, Daniel Long of Des Moines; five daughters–Linda (Oscar) Frias of Cleveland, TX, Carolyn Sue Buckley of Des Moines, Kathi Klingensmith of Newton, Virginia (Jim) Meek of Phoenix, AZ, and Joyce (Bob) Long of Davenport; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters–Dorothy Astelle of Newton, Alberta Long of Baxter, and Gayle Morrison of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Horal A. and Agnes (Fitch) Doland; her husband, Virgil Long; two brothers; three sisters; and a great-grandson.
Mary was a graduate of Colfax High School. She worked as a housekeeper at Skiff Medical Center.
