Mary E. “Sassy” Hamilton, 70, of 17220 U.S. 12, died Monday (Oct. 30, 2006) in Elkhart (Ind.) General Hospital from complications related to open-heart surgery.
She was born Dec. 14, 1935, in Goshen, Ind., to Charles Alfred and Tessie Pearl (Stevens) Pearson.
She is survived by two sons, Roger “Lee” (Cathy) Hamilton of Coconut Creek, Fla., and William “Dwight” Hamilton of Elkhart; four daughters, Pamela Parker and Christina (Charles) Adams, both of Elkhart, Brenda (Michael) Cataldo of Osceola, Ind., and Sandra Hamilton of Edwardsburg; her companion, David Felix of Edwardsburg; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Curtis and Sharon Conrad, both of Texas; and two brothers, Fred Pearson of Vandalia and Clinton Pearson of California.
She was preceded in death by one son, John Henry Hamilton; two brothers and one sister.
Ms. Hamilton transported RVs before retiring five years ago. She enjoyed being a mother and grandmother, as well as flowers, the outdoors, camping, garage sales, flea markets, and especially NASCAR and Notre Dame.
