Mary D. Shicatano, age 83, of Upper Chichester, formerly of Southwest Philadelphia passed away peacefully on September 21, 2021. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Federico & Grace De Cesaris.Married 62 years to the late Ralph Shicatano; devoted and loving mother of Michele (Eric) Roberts, Ralph (Regina) Shicatano, Gina (Vincent) DiPaolo; cherished grandmother to her eight grandchildren: Lauren (Robert), Nicole, Angela, Julia, Vincent, Nina, Anthony and Mario; dear sister of the late Domenic (Carmel) De lived a life of love and dedication to her family and her faith. For years she spent countless hours volunteering at St. Clement’s Parish, where her children attended school. And later when relocating to Upper Chichester continued her life of service and dedication at St. John Fisher Parish. She truly embraced her Italian heritage and loved cooking traditional Italian dishes to feed the masses. She was a compassionate and selfless friend to many and was always willing to help those in need. But it was her family that she created with Ralph that she considered her greatest accomplishment. She made it her life’s work to be the best mother and grandmother she could possibly be.
