Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary Dolores Larragoite Bussell (Maria), passed peacefully among family September 23rd.
The first of ten children, Mary Dolores was a born leader. The managerial skills she learned from helping run the family business and estate in Santa Fe, paved the wave for her future as a career woman and mother.
Mary was the daughter of well respected politician Armando Larragoite and his wife, Paula Quintanna.
After graduating from the prestigious Loretto Academy in Santa Fe, she went on to study Business Law. In the 1930s, Mary Dolores graduated from Healds Business College. She was a woman ahead of her times. She had a successful career working as a legal secretary at Stockley and later a credit manager at Sears, while simultaneously running a household of four children at 1015 Morton Street.
Mary Dolores lived to meet not only her grandchildren, but her great-grandchildren and her great-great grandchildren. She returned to Alameda where she passed peacefully, surrounded by family and the love of her four remaining children, Ben Richard Bussell Jr (Judy), Dorothy Tuscher (Calvin), Michael Bussell, and Darlene Gerson (Victor). She has joined her late husband Ben Richard Sr, her son Donald Bussell, parents Armando and Paula Larragoite, brothers Armando Larragoite, Benito Larragoite, and Mariano Larragoite, sister-in-law Margaret Larragoite, grandson John Tuscher, and beloved daughter-in-law Jody Bussell.
She is survived by her four loving children, grandchildren Diana Larson, Dana Bussell, Darlene Bussell, Michael Gerson, Amy Gerson, Amanda Gerson Caniglia, numerous great- grandchildren, and siblings Amelia Brown, Alfonso Larragoite, Philip Larragoite, Fannie Romero, Claude Larragoite, and Gilbert Larragoite.
