Mary Christine Emmons Booton, 93, of Flemingsburg, passed away Wednesday December 31, 2014 at Fleming County Hospital.
Mrs. Booton was the second child of Leslie and Bessie Pickett Fleming Emmons born in Fleming County in May of 1921.
She attended school in Fleming County and was employed at various places in Flemingsburg. She married the late Jim Booton in 1944 and together they moved to New Market, IN where they resided for many years before moving to Crawfordsville, IN. A few years after his death in 1983, Mrs. Booton moved back home to Flemingsburg.
She was a talented and cheerful person who loved sharing her flowers and baked goods with family and friends.
In September of this year she was devastated to learn of the death of her only son James H. Booton. It is believed that grief took a toll on her health. Her death leaves family and friends saddened.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, and son James Booton; brothers John, Noel and Bob Emmons.
Mrs Booton is survived by two granddaughters Elizabeth Christine (Davis) Walker and Mary Highland (Mike) Rodihan of Washington State; great grandchildren Mattew, Rosalie and Andrew Walker; Siblings: Ann Curtis & Winona Reeder of Maysville, Alice Litton of Flemingsburg, Bessie Louisa Mathis of Dayton, OH, Maxine Rankin of Columbus, OH, Carey Emmons of Ripley, OH; along with countless nieces, nephews and friends.
