Mary Cecelia Borgman of Borgman, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at her home built by her father, where she was born and lived throughout her life. She was 107 years old. She was born November 10, 1908, to Francis William and Cecelia (Korte) Borgman.

Mary was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she taught catechism, trained altar boys, and was a member of the St. Joseph’s Altar Sodality. She was the church organist for more than 30 years. After the closing of St. Joseph’s, Mary attended St. Sebastian’s Church in Kingwood.

Mary attended Church School in Borgman and later returned to teach the first and second grade there for more than 39 years. She was a graduate of the Kingwood High School class of 1927, and earned a degree from Shepherd College. At Shepherd she was a member of the Kappa Delta Phi, the Delta Psi Chapter.

She is survived by nieces, Regina Hunt Schreitmueller (Dick), Dolores Nelson (Ed), Mary Frances Gainer, Mary Ann Evans (Bill), Rosemary Borgman Bernatowicz, Virginia Walton (Stanley) and nephews, Dr. Thomas Hunt, James Hunt (Dolly), Dr. Edward Morgan (Jean), Francis Borgman (Sue), Dr, Lawrence Borgman (Kathy); 31 great nieces and nephews; several great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses, Lawrence and Rosemary (Herman) Borgman, James and Helen (Murphy) Borgman, Thomas and Regina (Borgman) Hunt, Leo and Edith (Greaser) Borgman, Ralph and Anne (Borgman) Morgan and William and Madalyn (Borgman) John; nieces, Katherine Borgman and Angela (Hunt) Rainer.

Friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street, on Sunday, August 28, 2016, from 2-7pm, with a Prayer Vigil at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Rosary.
