Mary Catherine “Cathy” Broadwater, 57, of Clarksburg passed on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at United Hospital Center with family by her side. She was born June 19, 1965 in Clarksburg, WV, daughter of Marion Elizabeth Wilson Pernell of Clarksburg and the late Jerome Boyd Pernell.
Cathy was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Class of 1983. She spent the last thirty-seven years driving for CENTRA Bus. She attended Reynoldsville Baptist Church where she was very active and taught Sunday school. She was a proud member of the ATU-Local 812. She enjoyed doing crafts and spending time with her family. Cathy was also active with Adopt-A-Highway.
In addition to her mother, Cathy is survived by her husband of thirty-eight years, Gregory Glenn Broadwater; three children, Samantha Jean Hutson, Christopher Ryan Broadwater and wife Molly, and William Raymond Broadwater and fiancée Samantha Sharpe, all of Clarksburg; two grandchildren, Jasmine Elizabeth Hutson and Dean William Sharpe; four siblings, Jerome “Jerry” Boyd Pernell Jr. and wife Sharon of Bridgeport, Michael Pernell of Clarksburg, Elizabeth “Beth” Laurel and husband Jeff of Greenwood, DE, and Andrea Pernell of Clarksburg; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles “Charlie” Pernell.
