Mary C. Super, 87, longtime resident of Glenolden, PA, died peacefully with her family by her side in Ridgefield, CT, on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late John Robert (Bob) Super.
Mary was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 23,1934; daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Devlin) Ormsby. She graduated in 1952 from John W Hallahan Catholic Girls High School and stayed close to her HS sorority sisters through the years. Mary earned her Associates degree in her early 50s and finished her long career as an executive assistant to the CEO of a large medical equipment company. During a time when it was not so common for a woman to have to balance a career and family life, she was a wonderful role model!
Mary married Bob Super, a decorated WWII veteran on October 24, 1959. Together they raised 3 children and had a long and loving marriage for 47 years until Bob’s passing in 2006.
Mary had a passion for travel and took many trips with family and friends all over the world.
Mary is survived by her sons Bob and Bill Super, her daughter Michele Quindlen, son-in-law Tom Quindlen, and her 3 grandchildren Tommy, Kevin (Katie), and Jessica. She is also survived by her sister Pat (Jerry) Montgomery and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Marge Fitzgibbon and brothers Paul and Charlie Ormsby.
