Mary Ann Mamie Mersch, 89, of LaSalle, died August 27, 2006 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Peru, where she resided for 3 years.
Mrs. Mersch was born on July 29, 1917 in LaSalle to Joseph and Mary (Balda) Zandecki. She married Edward J. Mersch on June 24, 1944 in St. Hyacinths Church in LaSalle. She had worked at St. Marys Hospital as an EKG Technician and at Peoples Hospital as a nurses aide. She was a member of St. Patricks Church, Ladies of Charity; St. Anns Sodality and the Illinois Valley Art Guild.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Edna (Lyle) Rolfe, of Aurora and Linda (John) Micheli, of Dalzell, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Bernadette (George) Hayden, of LaSalle and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband June 26, 2002; a grandson, Michael Robert Rolfe, at birth and two brothers, Joseph and Edwin Zandecki.
