Mary Ann Brown was born in Phoenix, on September 20, 1933, the youngest of three children born to Frank and Rosella Brown.  Mary Ann was born in the front bedroom of the family home, located at Third Street and Orme Avenue in Phoenix, and lived there for 16 years.  She graduated from Tempe Union High School in 1951, and married her high school sweetheart, James C. Roberts, Jr., in Phoenix, in 1952.  A couple years later, Jim and Mary Ann welcomed their first child, Marcella Lynn, followed by Lori Sue.  Jamie Lee completed their family of three daughters.

In her spare time, Mary Ann created wonderful dolls, afghans, and crafts for her family, and dabbled in oil painting.  She would say her favorite things, next to her children and grandchildren, were collecting seashells and enjoying leisure time on white sandy beaches.

After 29 years of marriage, when Jim Roberts passed away suddenly, she married Waldo O.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rosella Brown; her brother, Robert Brown; her sister, Frances Geske; and both of her loving husbands, James C. Roberts, Jr., and Waldo O. Walker.  She is survived by her three daughters, Marcella Blakley (Kelly), Lori Crawford (Jim), and Jamie Faber (Larry), as well as ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and three nieces and nephews.  She is loved and will be missed by all of us who share in the “Heritage of Love” she leaves.  We will sing together again!
