Mary Ann Rumbaugh, 82, of Spirit Lake passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018, at her home in Spirit Lake.
Mary was born on July 9, 1936, in Spirit Lake to Lawrence and Esther (Snyder) Damm. She graduated from Okabena High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Wayne Ronald Rumbaugh, Jr. on January 22, 1955, in Brewster, MN. She was a homemaker and customer rep for people’s natural gas. Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. She enjoyed horseback riding, walking with her dogs, reading her books in the sun, volunteering at Upper Des Moines, geocaching with her husband, and doing crafts of all varieties. She also enjoyed spending her winters with her husband in Mission, TX for over 14 years. Left to cherish her memory is four children, William “Bill” Rumbaugh of Kansas City, MO; Debra Rumbaugh of Mission, TX; Ann (Randy) Devall of Spirit Lake; Michael “Mike” Rumbaugh of Spirit Lake; granddaughters Christi (Chris) Knox of North Mankato, MN; Andrea (Mick) Loerts of Milford; grandsons Weston Rumbaugh of Washington, D.C.; Andrew “Andy” Rumbaugh of Kansas City, MO; great-grandchildren Elizabeth and Noah Knox of North Mankato, MN and Austin Loerts of Milford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Robert “Bob” and Howard Damm. In lieu of flowers, the family asked you consider making a memorial in Mary’s name to Upper Des Moines, the Cancer Society, or Catholic Charities.
