Mary E. Alvarez, 75, of Bristol, passed away on Monday September 19, 2011 at Bristol Hospital. She was the beloved wife for 51 years to Charles Alvarez. Mary was born on February 28, 1936 in New Orleans, LA to the late Charles and Gertrude Martin.
Mary was a longtime Bristol resident, where she raised her family. In her spare time she loved watching the UCONN girl’s basketball games. Mary was devoted to her family, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren. Her love and devotion to her family will forever be a part of them.
Along with her husband Charles Alvarez of Bristol, she leaves 4 loving children Ken Alvarez and his wife Shelly of ME; Mike Alvarez and his companion Kelly of Southington; Kathy Brousseau and her husband Ray of Bristol and Pat Nigro of Bristol, 9 grandchildren Melissa, Amanda and her husband Joe, Kristina, Katie and her husband Tim, Dustin, Jordyn, Jillian, Kayla and Matthew, along with 1 brother and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her extended family members Amanda and Haley. Mary was predeceased by 2 sisters and 1 brother. The family would like to extent a special Thank You to the Bristol Hospital ICU for their dedication and compassion shown to Gram.
