Mary A. Jester, 67, of South Bend passed away Friday, May 9 at Hospice House in Roseland surrounded by ALL of her children and loving husband.
Mary was born to James Grant Monteith and Mary Marguarite Miller on June 11, 1946.
She lived in South Bend most of her life. Mary went to Riley High School. On June 29,1964, Mary married her high school sweetheart, Larry A. Jester, Sr. who survives-they would have been married for 50 years in June. Eternal love. Mary is also survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters, Jim-Laura (Mo) Jester of South Bend, Scott-Sherri Jester of South Bend, Lori-Kevin Mills of South Bend, Greg-Joanne Jester of South Bend, Becky-Jason Jester of South Bend; 2 sisters, Maggie (Jane)-Sam Noe of Missiouri, & Sue-Ken James of South Bend. Mary was preceded in death by her loving son, Larry A. Jester Jr., (momma and you are together in Heaven forever and ever). Mary had 25 grandchildren that she loved dearly and 2 great-grandchildren.
Mary worked for the City of South Bend for 29 plus years as a radio room operator and secretary for the Street Dept. in South Bend before retiring from the city.
Mary enjoyed yard work, camping, her children, and grandchildren. She loved talking with good friends, her dog Charlie, and she devoted her life to her wonderful husband of 49 years of marriage.
The Family is planning a Celebration of Life Ceremony for the immediate family.
Mom your life was too short as they always are, but your family loves you and will miss you-we will meet again someday. I know your spirit lives inside all of us, but we wish you were still here. We love you.
