Marvin Preston Watson, 85, died Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi in Oxford, MS…… He was a retired agent and station manager with Southern Airways and a veteran of the United States Army. Along with his wife he attended Sand Springs Presbyterian Church in the Orwood Community and Clear Creek Baptist Church. Marvin was an Ole Miss sports fan and an active member of the Quarterback Club. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years and church softball in his later years. Marvin was well known locally for his farming operation. Tomatoes were his speciality, earning him the nickname “Mater Man.. He is survived by his wife, Jean Watson, of Oxford, MS; four sons, Tim Watson of Oxford, MS, Lee Watson and his wife, Kathy, of Calvert City, KY, David Watson and his wife, Melody, of Boston, MA, and Sam Watson and his wife, Nora, of Boston, MA; four grandchildren, Lee Watson, Megan Watson Bennett, Lucas Watson and Xander Watson; three great grandchildren, Aiden Driver, Caleb Watson, and Leanna Watson.
