Marvin Grant Langley, 93, passed away quietly after a brief illness, Saturday July 21st, 2018. Marvin lived almost his entire life in the Muncie and Delaware County area. He spent the last three years living in Troy, Michigan near his son. He served in the 101st Airborne and was honorably discharged during the time period of WWII and Korea. Marvin has worked at several companies, most notably, Ball Brothers, Delco Battery, and multiple other positions at Ontario Corporation where he retired from as plant engineer. After retirement, he started his own business MGL Lines which lasted twenty-eight years drawing new house plans, home and office remodeling plans and face lifts of small town business districts. He did all of his work on the drawing board by hand, that were not only technically perfect, but works of was a member of the American Society for Metals and Materials since 1957. His passions in life were his wife “Ruthie”, his son Rick, history, road trips, drawing houses, yard work, building small projects and most anything automotive related.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Mable and Carly Marvin Langley, his wife of sixty-one years Ruth Ellen (Abraham) Langley, and a sister Pauline (Langley) Wilson of Bolder Colorado, along with multiple aunts, uncles and cousins from Indiana and Kentucky.
He is survived by his sister Catherin (Langley) Dowling, Muncie Indiana, a son Eric (Rick) Langley and his wife Donna, Troy Michigan. Three grandchildren, Jason Langley, Portage Michigan, Jessica (Langley) Melanshek, husband Nick, Waterford, Michigan and Jacklyn (Langley) Dominick, husband Cole, of Madison Heights, Michigan. Marvin has two great-grandchildren, Riley Melanshek and Isabel Dominick.
