M. Buddy Goldman, 91, of West Hartford, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at The Hebrew Home and Hospital in West Hartford. Born on May 24, 1923 in Hartford, Buddy was the son of the late Jacob and Bess (Sable) Goldman and the widower of Adelle (Apatow) Goldman. Buddy was a founding member of Temple Sinai in Newington. A very talented musician, Buddy loved music and enjoyed playing Jazz on his saxophone. He was an avid gardener. Buddy is survived by his children, Steven Goldman and his wife, Fran of Akron, OH; Lisa J. Tilum of West Hartford; and Jonathan Goldman and his wife, Mary Frances of Newington, grandchildren, Jessica and Matthew Goldman of Newington, his sister, Selma Waxman of Portland, ME; his devoted companion of twenty five years, Patty Davidson of West Hartford and his best friend’s daughter who was very special to him, Micky Dunn of FL; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife Adelle, he was predeceased by his sisters, Estelle Ludgin, Evelyn Slossberg, Genevieve Weinstein and Vera Glass. Buddy’s family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at The Hebrew Home and Hospital for the exceptional care they gave Buddy and the compassion shown to him and his family.
