Marvin Blommers, the son of Benjamin T. and Tillie (DeWit) Blommers, was born November 28, 1925 in Mahaska County.  He attended Flint Ridge Country School in Mahaska County. Marvin lived in the Pella, Iowa area from 1925-1952.

On August 13, 1947, Marvin was united in marriage to Helen B. Van Brogen in Lynn Creek, Missouri.  In 1952, they moved to Newton, Iowa where Marvin worked fro the Singer Sewing Machine Center, Parsons Company for 10 years and Donaldson Company in Grinnell, Iowa.  He was a forklift operator for the Donaldson Company and retired in 1988.  Marvin was a member of the UAW Local 1201.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and twin daughters in infancy.  Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Helen; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Lisa Blommers of Newton; Mark and Kathy Blommers of Monroe, Iowa; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Mike Farrell of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Sandy and Bill Boyd of Newton, Iowa; his twelve grandchildren, Amy Johnson and husband, Eric; Amber and Cory Blommers; Robin, Kristin, Danyelle and Kyle Blommers; Doug Farrell and wife, Sarah, Debbie, and David Farrell; Daniel and Jennifer Boyd; his three great-grandchildren, Kyndra Johnson, Chase Farrell and Zachary McConnell; his two brothers, Dave Blommers of Pella and Gysbert Blommers of Marion, Iowa; his sister, Gertrude Dykstra of Pella and his many nieces and nephews.
