Marvel D. (Draves) Pugsley, 87, of Midland died Friday, July 03, 2009, at MidMichigan Stratford Village.
The daughter of the late August and Clara (Kaschefsky) Draves was born November 4, 1921, in Detroit and moved to Midland when she was eleven years old.
Marvel married David J. Pugsley in Topeka, Kansas on December 3, 1943. After nearly 61 years of marriage, David predeceased his wife on September 29, 2004. Marvel and her husband were instrumental in the start-up of Pineview Homes in Evart. Marvel was an active volunteer there for over 30 years. She was a former Camp Fire Girls leader, a volunteer at the State Home in Mount Pleasant, and a member of the Assembly of God where she was very active with the Church Food Bank.
Mrs. Pugsley is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (James C.) Gill of Macedonia, Ohio; grandchildren, Tammy (John) Port and Jennifer Gill; brothers, Milton Draves and Roy Draves, both of Midland; and sisters, Evelyn Hockemeyer of Midland and Dolores Lemche of Florida.
