REEVES, Mr. Martin A. “Mike”, Portage, MI. Died Tuesday morning November 9, 2010. Mike was born November 25, 1923 in Alva, Florida the son of Cash and Mary Richards Reeves. He was a Veteran of WWII, serving under General George Patton. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1952 and was employed with the Michigan Department of Transportation for 41 years, retiring in 1987.
Martin was a member of the Oakwood Bible Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Donald and Alton Reeves; 2 sisters, Reva Sheriff and Marilyn Leonhardt. On December 31, 1943, he was united in marriage to Norma L. Tompkins Reeves who survives.
Also surviving, 3 children, Carolyn Fred Neubauer of Portage, MI, Gerald Susan Reeves of Mattawan, and Michael Annette Reeves of Ovid, MI; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Joyce Heller of Coldwater, MI and Evelyn Eugene Kelsey of Findley, OH; a brother-in-law, Edward “Ted” Lucy Tompkins of Rosella, UT; and many nieces and nephews.
