DE VISSER, Mrs. Martha T., Kalamazoo. Martha went home to be with the Lord Friday evening, July 16, 2010. She was born February 23, 1923, in Kalamazoo, MI, a daughter of Henry and Katie Wiersma Slater and had been a life long area resident. Martha was a member of Covenant United Reformed Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; Minor, Steven, Garrett and Emko Slater; and by a sister, Edith Bowles. On November 9, 1945, Martha was united in marriage with Henry De Visser, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Jan Post of Kalamazoo, Donald Pamela De Visser of Portland, OR and David Joan De Visser of Schoolcraft; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
