On June 12, 2019 Martha Nieto Mora, of Nampa, ID, was called home by our Lord and savior at the age of 64. She was born April 06, 1955 to Manuel and Elisa Nieto in Karnes City, Texas. In 1967, at the age of 12 she and her family moved to Nampa, ID, where she remained for the rest of her life. Martha enjoyed a happy childhood full of memories with her 8 siblings (Ernesto, Servando, Robert, Yolanda, Hopi, Sam, Mary Jane & Helen) and formed a love for Elvis Presley’s music. In January of 1980, she married John Mora and together they had two sons, Manuel (Kristen) Mora and David Mora both of Nampa.
Martha settled in as a stay at home mom to raise her sons and also helped raise her nephew, Sammy Lee, to instill the morals and values that were most important to her. In particular that family is the core of our lives. Martha was a simple woman who never wanted for much, never put herself first or ever took the time to spoil herself. Her happiness and joy in life was to be around the ones she loved. Most days, once the boys were off to school, she would be with her mother, Elisa with whom she shared an incredible bond, cutting out coupons for shopping, chatting about the current events or just watching some telenovelas. On specials days, there would be “The shopping game” in which they would shop for home decorations or clothes that they could take back next weekend, just to find something else. While not officially appointed, Martha was a tremendous caretaker for her mother, she took great pride in it and was endeared by the family for it.
Martha was never one for the spotlight.
As her own family began to grow, with additions of grand babies, her focus for her teachings moved from her boys to her grandchildren. With her instinctive characteristic to provide care for the ones she loved, Martha was always around to help in any way when needed, and she always helped with a smile on her face. Being around her grandchildren and great-grandchild brought her peace and happiness as well as a sense of pride. Martha’s grandchildren Marcus and Alexis became extremely close to her over the years and they had returned the caretaker spirit that she helped instill, as they would provide a ride to doctor’s appointments, or even to go out and share a meal. Martha’s selfless spirit and loving nature will be forever missed, but will live on through her family.
She was also preceded in death by her mother and father, Manuel and Elisa Nieto, and her oldest brother, Ernesto Nieto.
She is survived by her husband John and their two sons, Manuel and David Mora; her eldest grandson, Marcus and eldest granddaughter Alexis, whom she helped raise and shared a special bond with, along with 6 more grandchildren, and one great grandson Milo, god-daughter Kolynda Dalton, 7 siblings and many nieces and nephews.
