Martha L. Herman, 88, of Ottawa, formerly of Serena, died Thursday night, April 7, 2011 at LaSalle County Nursing Home. Martha was born June 24, 1922 in Deer Run, West Virginia to Fred and Myra (Lough) Eye. She married Earl A. Herman on December 11, 1942 in Verona Parsonage. He died on June 19, 2004. Martha was a member of Serena United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Jim Beam Club in Ottawa and Air Stream Club. She is survived by three daughters, Sharon (Floyd) Nelson of Serena, Bonnie (Curt) Sorenson of Bartlett, Vicki (LeRoy) Deegan of Ottawa; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and two sisters, Reba (Edgar) Read, of Henry and Geneva Looft, of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; one sister and three brothers.
