Marshall Andrew Holycross Jr., 70, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on January 26, 2006, in his home. Marsh was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. The light of his life was his family and friends. Dad never met a stranger. He loved people. Poppy never passed up a moment to brag about his children, grandchildren & great grand babies.
A huge Notre Dame fan, he worked as a usher at N.D. football and basketball games. He cried when they won and he cried when they lost. Sports was always apart of his life. He coached little league baseball for Clay JBA, Chet Waggoner and Babe Ruth. A fan of Yankee Baseball, he could tell you the score of a game that was played 50 years ago, along with the time, date & weather on the day of the game.
His memory for dates was a source of entertainment for his family. Everyone called him to verify birth dates. He retired from Big C Lumber in 1996, after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local #364, where he served as president for two years for the retirees. He served his country in the Army National Guard from 1958-1964.
