Marsha L. Nelson, 53 of Ottosen, died Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Kossuth Regional Health Care Center in Algona. Marsha Brown, the daughter of Roger and Janice (Bendixen) Brown was born January 14, 1962 in Emmetsburg, Iowa.
She was educated in Mallard, graduating from the Mallard High School in 1980. She then attended and graduated from La James College in Mason City. On August 11, 1989 she was united in marriage with Larry “Art” Nelson. The couple lived in the Ottosen and West Bend area during their married lives.
Marsha was employed by Mark and Lori Skoglund at Skoglund’s Meat and Locker for 23 years. Survivors include her husband Art of Ottosen, IA, children Brandon (Ashley) Nelson of Whittemore, IA, and Brenda (Kody) Carrigan of Emmetsburg, IA, granddaughters MaKenzie and Harper,parents Roger and Janice Brown of Algona, IA, brother Perry(Donna) Brown of Belmond, IA and sister Kari Waechter of Algona, IA. Marsha loved gardening, her job with Skoglunds, reading and the families special vacation to Duluth, Minnesota last winter. She was preceded in death by her grandsons Kyler and Kolton and sister Diane Holmeburg.
