Marlowe Franklin Barber, 86, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at his home in Idaho Falls. He was born on August 7, 1927, in Cross City, Florida, to Ivie Monford and Beulah Land Barber. He attended grade school through high school in Cross City, Florida. He joined the Navy before graduating and came back and graduated with his class. He served in the Navy for 20 years and retired as a Chief Machinist Mate. He served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam Wars. He married Colleen Clapp on April 1, 1961 in Idaho Falls. He was a Plank owner on the USS Long Beach that he was stationed on when it was being built in Boston. He sailed on it to Norfolk, Virginia, and was aboard it until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, traveling back and forth across the U.S.
