Marlene Tedesco (nee Schelmay), 73, of Toms River, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born and raised in Bayonne, NJ, she lived in Seaside Heights before moving to Toms River in 1987. Marlene was a teacher for the Jackson Twp. School System for over 35 years, retiring from Carl W. Goetz Middle School in 2000. Following her teaching career, she became a real estate agent and a member of the Ocean County Board of Realtors. She was a parishioner at St. Justin RC Church, Toms River, and a member of the church’s Altar Rosary Society.
Marlene was a member of the NJEA, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, the Polish American Club, and was Past President of the Seaside Chapter of Deborah Hospital Foundation. Marlene is survived by her husband of 50 years, Joseph Tedesco; a son Joseph Tedesco, Jr.; her sister Anita Fedorochko of Pine Beach; her brother and sister-in-law Theodore F. & Deborah Schelmay; and two nephews and a niece: Todd Fedorochko, Douglas Schelmay, and Christine Manna.
