Marlene Marie Toelke, age 82 of Rock City, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Medina Nursing Home. She was born December 6, 1939, in Monroe, WI; the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Berneice (Arnsmeier) Stuckey. She was a 1957 graduate of Dakota High School. Marlene married her high school sweetheart Keith Frank Toelke on November 2, 1958; he passed on September 4, 1998.

She worked at the Dakota High School before becoming a dairy farmer on the family farm in Rock City, IL. Marlene was a member of St. Paul Church of Epleyanna of Davis, IL. In her younger years, she played the accordion with 4 other girls in places around the community and also was a member of an area girls softball team. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles and digging in the dirt outside of her home. She also enjoyed cake decorating before her illness in 1986 which left her with no short-term memory. She was always a lifelong avid sports fan of the Dakota Indians. Marlene was sweet, caring, and before her illness was hard working and would help anyone if they were in need. Her family was her priority and she did everything she could to make them happy.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie (Larry) Chapman of Freeport and Jill (Sheldon) DeVries of Clermont, FL; son, Kirk (Laura) Toelke of Savannah, GA; daughter-in-law, Kim Toelke of Davis; Sister, Shirley (Merle) Goeke of Rock City and brother Merle (Bonnie) Stuckey of Davis; grandchildren, Samantha, Nicole, Paige, Kolt, and Tabytha; and great-grandchildren, Cecilia, Ava and Aiden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith; son, Joel Toelke; and brother, William Stuckey.
