Marlene E. Grater, age 75 of Holiday City Berkeley section of Berkeley Twp. passed away on October 31st, 2013 at her home. Marlene was born in Jersey City, NJ to Arthur and Evelyn Bramley on December 1st, 1937. She lived in Ridgefield Park, NJ before moving to Holiday City Berkeley in 1998. Marlene worked at multiple A&P groceries and was always babysitting family members and neighborhood children.
She was active with many organizations, including the Meladeers, Variety and Drama, bowling, bingo, bocce, fishing and social club all of HCB, the Italian American Club, the Bogota American Legion Post 117, and the Ridgefield Engine Comp. 92 Women’s Auxiliary. Marlene enjoyed camping with her family and traveled for many years to several campgrounds. She will be greatly missed by her family. Marlene is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Kenneth and Dennis Bramley.
She is survived by her husband, William E. Grater III., by her children, William A. Grater (Tracy), Marjorie Van Dorn (James), Kathleen Rhode (Ray), Lori Mohsen (Sham) and Joy Grater, her brothers, Arthur and Ronald Bramley, her sisters, Phyllis Magnone, Lynn Hicks, Karen Hankamp and Patricia Senkowski. Marlene is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Michael Rhode, Colleen and Holly Van Dorn, Jessika and Dylan Mohsen, Megan, Will and Ben Grater, Brittany Loria, Rebecca and Brandon Grater and one great-granddaughter Sophia Van Dorn.
