Marla Kay Vos was born November 13, 1960 to Norm and Mae (Goemaat) Nieuwsma in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Marla grew up in Pella, was a 1979 graduate of Pella Community High School. She was honored to be Tulip Queen her Senior year.
Marla was a Proverbs 31 wife and mother; she managed the house and business, and did the cooking, cleaning and sewing. She was talented and good at anything she put her mind to. Whether it was washing the dishes, coordinating or sewing outfits for her girls, or researching and finding the impossible on the internet Marla worked with quiet, steady determination and no task was too large or small for her to do and do well. Marla felt blessed to be able to travel and loved the adventures shared with Clint, her family, and her friends, but there was no where she’d rather be than at home. Marla raised her children to fear the Lord, and led by example. Her faith and hope in her Savior never wavered, and He was faithful to her until the end.
Most of all Marla loved her fifteen grandkids! She was always present for them and would do anything for her family! Marla passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a four year battle with breast cancer.
