Marla Jo Reeder of Parma, Idaho passed away peacefully on September 12, 2022, at the age of 75.  She was a noble wife, mother, sister, and daughter.
Marla Jo was born to loving parents Reno Trawin Leighton and Faye Van Voorhis Leighton in Boise, Idaho.  Marla Jo was the youngest of four children, growing up in Meridian before her family moved to Boise in her teen years.  She graduated from Borah High School in 1964 and attended Boise College before marrying Bruce Samuel Reeder.
Marla Jo found great fulfillment in being a wife and mother; she enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, knitting, canning, craft-making, and playing the piano.  She loved her children and she was diligent in encouraging her children to do well in school, athletics, and any other endeavor.  She exemplified hard work; in addition to the job of being a homemaker, she delivered the Idaho Statesman newspaper to Parma residents for many years.  Marla Jo truly enjoyed the friendship and fellowship of others in the Parma community.  Although she moved away in her later years because she required assistive care due to Parkinson’s disease, she always considered Parma as her home.

Marla Jo was preceded in death by her parents and two of her three brothers (George Leighton and Tim Leighton).  She is survived by her husband Bruce Reeder, son Dennis Reeder, daughter Patti Jo (Eric) Blakemore, son Warren (Kisha) Reeder, and son Todd (Haley) Reeder, twelve grandchildren, and her brother Jerry Leighton.
