Mark Leslie Fenton
September 3, 1947 – April 3, 2016

Mark Leslie Fenton was born in Salt Lake City on September 3, 1947 to Leslie W. and Wanda M. Fenton. After a short illness, he passed away April 3, 2016.

He met Lynda Bryner in 1964 and married her in 1969. They have three wonderful children … Jennifer Fulton (Ron), Jeremy Fenton, James Fenton … and one special grandson, Joshua Fulton who all live in Utah. He was a loving and caring husband and father who wanted nothing but the best for his family, and would do anything to make sure we were taken care of.

He served in the army reserve, then served an honorable mission in New York State. Mark graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in business, but soon found he didn’t like the retail world. He went to school in Metallurgy and worked in a foundry for 15 years. He finally decided he wanted something else, so he went back to school again… this time in electronics. He went to work for KSL TV as an engineer and loved the challenges of working with equipment, phones and computers. When IBM first announced a home PC, he was on the list for one. He loved computers. He would sit for hours with a manual in his lap and he taught himself how to write code and to explore how it all worked. He always was learning something new. His most recent adventure was learning Hebrew which he found both challenging and rewarding.

When he retired, he focused on his hobbies. He was a fine carpenter. He turned exotic woods into lovely items. He designed and built his own home and personally custom built all of the cabinets in the house. Everywhere you look in his home you see the results of his talent, from cabinets to furniture to decorative pieces.

Mark loved a beautiful yard and planted a garden every year.

Mark had a kind heart and a willingness to help others. He dreamed of being a master story teller. He didn’t always have a lot to say, but when he did, you wanted to listen because it is going to be something good. His family was his main focus, and he wanted each of his children to fulfill their dreams and destiny.

We love him and we will miss him.
