Mark H. Johnson, 90, of Salem, Illinois passed away December 21, 2020, cared for in the home of his daughter.
Born June 30, 1930 in Salem, he was the son of Harry F. and Harriet (Brinkoetter) Johnson.
Following graduation, he attended and graduated from SIU-Carbondale, and the University of Illinois. He taught and retired from Salem Community High School, teaching health, physiology, and coached football and basketball. He was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church, Salem Elks Club and the Salem American Legion Post #128. He served in the U. S. Army (ROTC).
He married Imogene Huffman, July 27, 1957 in Carbondale, IL and she preceded him in death.
Surviving is his daughter, Janelle Edwards and husband Mike of Salem, and grandchildren Lauren (Taylor Welch) Edwards and Mark (Natalie) Edwards. Also a great grandson, Griffin Edwards and one nephew, Marc Johnson.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Johnson and Robert Johnson.
