Mark Lynn Boyd, the son of Carol (Fett) and Ronald L. Boyd, was born March 29, 1966 at Kearney, Nebraska. He departed this life on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his home in Bladen, Nebraska at the age of 51 years, 1 month and 15 days.
Mark’s family lived in a number of Nebraska communities including Omaha, Grand Island, Norfolk, Atkinson and Cedar Rapids before settling down in Albion in 1977 where he graduated from high school with the class of 1985. His love of mechanics started in high school when he worked for Kayton International under Jewell Niemann, who taught him how to solve mechanical issues with old fashion ingenuity. Mark continued his formal education attending Southeast Community College in Milford where he received his degree in Diesel Mechanics in 1987.
Upon graduating from Milford he was employed with Melton Motors in Belleville, Kansas. After that he worked with Moran Machine at St. Edward and then Lindsay Manufacturing as a welder until moving to Bladen in 2001 when he began his employment with Bladen Sand & Gravel Company.
Mark was united in marriage with Lyla Kearney on April 22, 1994. This union was blessed with four daughters, Lorna, Laurann, Larissa and Lavender, who preceded him in death. Mark was a loving and caring father. He dearly loved his girls and his family and he especially cherished the time they spent together.
Mark’s passion was working on vehicles and he spent his free time watching the speed channel, or just about anything car related. He was always proud of his daughters and two granddaughters, Zoey and Emma. Although Mark loved mechanics and his fast cars, family was always most important to him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ron Boyd on November 13, 2014 and daughter, Lavender.
Left to treasure his memory are his daughters, Lorna Osantowski and husband, Dalton, and daughters Zoey and Emma of Genoa, Nebraska; Laurann Boyd of Juniata, Nebraska; and Larissa Boyd of Manhattan, Kansas; his mother, Carol Boyd of Bladen, Nebraska; two brothers, Kurt Boyd of Bladen and Mitch Boyd and wife Jessica of Primrose, Nebraska and children Riley and Jackson; other relatives and his many friends.
