Mark Allen Mitchell, 56, of Terre Haute, passed away Friday July 12, 2013 surrounded by his family. Mark was born August 31, 1956 in Terre Haute to Norman and Billie Jean Call Mitchell. Mark was an honorably discharged member of the United States Army and was retired from Bemis Corporation. Mark was a member of American Legion Post #104. He was an avid sports fan and loved to watch the Chicago Bears and the Cubs. Mark loved to spend time on the lake boating with his family; however his true love was golf. He would hit the links anytime that he was able to, often times playing when the weather was not permitting. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Brent and Bob Mitchell, and one sister; Connie Jones. Mark is survived by one son; Matt Slaughter of Brazil, one daughter; Jamie Hill and her husband Matt of Terre Haute, three brothers; Terry Mitchell and his wife Paula of Terre Haute, Charlie Mitchell and his wife Janet of Jasonville, and Gary Allen and his wife Teresa of Lewis, one sister; Lisa Hixon and her husband Don of Lewis, one sister-in-law; Rena Mitchell, three grandchildren; Taylor Hill, and Madison and Olivia Slaughter. Mark is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, family, and loved ones.
