Marjorie Ruth Colyn, 91, of Pleasant Hill, IA, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Marjorie was born August 4, 1929, in York, NE, the daughter of Howard “Bud” and Helen (Toombs) Schall. At the age of 11, she moved with her family to Runnells, IA where she graduated from high school.
On September 20, 1947, she married Glen Colyn and they made their home in Runnells until moving to Pleasant Hill in 1965. Marge worked for Bankers Life now known as Principal Financial until her retirement.
Marge enjoyed camping with her family at the Iowa State Fair, volunteering for Broadlawns Hospital, and attending her grandchildren’s ball games.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen in 1993, two sons Michael and Roger, and three brothers, Buddy, Gerald, and David.
Marge is survived by her son Randy (Gay) Colyn of Altoona, two grandchildren, Michael (Tessa) Colyn and Lyndsey (Rob) Roe, four great-grandchildren, Trenton Tharp, Layla, Alivia, and Maisie Sly, and two brothers, Jim (Norma) Schall of Runnells and Danny (Janice) Schall of Pleasant Hill.
