Marjorie F. Ott Wehnau, 79
West Sand Lake Marjorie F. Ott Wehnau, 79,of Reichard Lake Road, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at her residence.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Valentine Ott and Edith (Coonradt) Ott and wife for 57 years of M. Duane Wehnau.
She was raised in Poestenkill and Troy and resided in West Sand Lake since 1950 and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1944.
Marge was a school bus driver for Rensselaer County B.O.C.E.S. for 20 years retiring in December of 1987. She previously worked at J.M. Warrens.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in West Sand Lake where she held several offices and was a member of the United Methodist Women and a Past President. She was active in the Rensselaer County Rural Letter Carrier Auxiliary and its secretary for many years and a member of the Executive Committee and Vice President of the New York State Rural Letter Carrier Auxiliary. In 1994 she was chosen Auxiliary Member of the Year for New York State.
Survivors in addition to her husband include three sons, Edwin D. (Gloria) Wehnau of West Sand Lake, Victor F. (Lynn) Wehnau of Corinth and Rodney J. (Debra) Wehnau of PennYan; a daughter, Carol (Jeffrey) Jacon of Poestenkill; two sisters, Ruth Clickner of Troy and Dorothy (Francis) Miner of Troy; a sister-in-law, Alice Ott of California; seven grandchildren, Stefan D., Valerie F., Michael D., Heather A., Lisa M., Thomas J. and Daniel J. and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and Alson Ott.
