Marjorie L. Fowler, 94 of Gilmore City died Friday June 12, 2015 at the Humboldt Care Center South. Marge was born November 29, 1920 in Plover, IA to George “Fred” Grove and Leone (Thompson) Grove. She was raised and educated in Plover, graduating from the Plover High School. She then attended 4 C’s business college in Des Moines, where along with her studies, participated in basketball.

On November 5, 1939 she was united in marriage with A.L. “Chick” Fowler at her parents home in Plover. While in Plover the couple farmed and then moved to Gilmore City in 1953, the home she lived in until she was 93. Marge worked at Globe Union in Fort Dodge and her last job of 15 years was as a machinist at Iowa Industrial Hydraulics in Pocahontas, retiring at the age of 68.

Marge loved life, loved her family and friends and was always positive. Her survivors include children: Nicole Grafton, Jean Bunz and Jerry (Vici) Fowler, 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, Chick in 1991, son Rick, infant son Pat D., brothers Lee and Gerald and sons-in-law Thomas Grafton and Walter Bunz.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Humboldt Care Center South for the love and care given to Marge and to Unity Point Hospice for keeping her comfortable and able to cope with the end of life.
