Marjorie Bell passed away on Wed. March 19 at Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of 97. She was born on April 25, 1916 in Tabor, Iowa. Her early years were spent in Elliott, Iowa. Her family moved to Chariton when Marjorie began high school, graduating in 1935. After high school, Marjorie worked at Montgomery Ward as the catalog department manager. Following her marriage to Elias Bell on May 23, 1942, she became a full time homemaker – a job at which she excelled. She was a wonderful cook and always enjoyed preparing everyone their favorite foods. An avid bridge player, she belonged to several bridge clubs.
