Marjorie Caldwell Groomes of Leola, Arkansas was born March 25, 1931 in Good Pine, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Clem Chester and Lillian Edwards Caldwell. She served her Lord faithfully as an active member of Leola Missionary Baptist Church where she loved to cook for the children. She also enjoyed cooking for the sick people in her community and was known for her biscuits and gravy. She loved her family and cherished the time she spent with her great grandchildren.
Mrs. Groomes died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Malvern at the age of 84.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Red” Groomes; brothers, Doyle Caldwell and Bill “Bullet” Caldwell; sisters, Doleen John and Kathrine Riggan.
Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Linda Groomes of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Randy and Nan Groomes of Leola; brothers, Charlie Caldwell of Little Rock, C.C. Caldwell and wife Patty of Bend, Oregon; sister, Betty “Pete” Harrison and husband Arthur of Leola; grandsons, Barry and wife Lindsey Groomes, Reece and wife Lindsey Groomes all of Leola, Lee Groomes of Hot Springs, Travis and wife Nichole Groomes of St. George, Utah, Michael Groomes of San Diego, California; granddaughter, Monica and husband John Clemons of Malvern; step children, Ted McFarland, James McFarland and Robert McFarland and their families all of Tulsa, Ok; great grandchildren, Brayden and Baylor Groomes, Mikey Groomes, Shelby Clemons, Belle, Baylor and Beckett Groomes, Sophia Groomes and one on the way Baxlee Rena Groomes and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
