Marjorie Alice Morrow, 91, Logansport, passed away at 6:00 a.m.

On March 13, 1926 in Peru, she was born to Russell Maugans and Dorothy (Mays) Maugans.

Marjorie began her working life by teaching at Peru High School upon graduation.

Marjorie enjoyed telling the story of her first job interview and how her supervisor asked, “If I hire you, I assume you have a dress you can wear to work?” As the 1960’s dawned and brought pants suits with them, she ensured that all dresses in her closet were exiled, never to return.

After retirement, she continued to enjoy gardening, knitting, candle & soap making and traveling. She began wood carving in her late 60s and continued until arthritis made this less enjoyable.

Surviving are her brother, James Maugans and sister, Carol Lou Woodward, both of Fort Myers, Florida, two sons, William R. Morrow (Sarah Silance) of Logansport and David C. Morrow of Bremen, and several amazing nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The Maugans clan was from Peru, Indiana, but has roots in Stuttgart, Germany.  Conrad Maugans arrived in Maryland in 1695 to start an orchard and added a family line that stretches down to the present.
