Marion M. Giangiulio, of Burlington Township, who taught for 30 years at Burlington Township High School, died suddenly Oct. 15. Marion was born and raised in Scranton, Pa., the daughter of William and Mary Duricko (Barko). She graduated valedictorian from West Scranton High School and received her bachelor of science in business education from Bloomsburg in 1956. She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, national honor society and Future Teachers of America. After graduation, she taught secretarial sciences at Keystone Junior College. It was at Bloomsburg where she met her husband, Pat Giangiulio.

Pat and Marion settled in Burlington Twp. Both taught high school business, Pat at Burlington City, Marion first at John F. Kennedy and Riverside High Schools, and finally B.T.H.S. Known to her students as Mrs. “G.” and Marion to her colleagues and friends, she helped shape the minds and and guide the careers of many students. In addition to teaching, for many years she ran the Future Business Leaders of America and the Yearbook committees. She was also active in her church. Pat and Marion raised two children, Mark and Craig, and were loving parents and companions in life for 45 years.

Pat passed in 2003. After many years as a teacher, mentor, and mother, Marion saved her finest work as devoted grandmother to Craig William, Nicole, Blaize and Christopher. In addition to her sons and grandchildren, she is survived by her daughters-in-law, Debra and Marleis, who she cherished and looked on as her own daughters.
