Marion Elizabeth (Marenghi) Keefe passed away in the loving presence of family on October 22, 2021 at John Adams Healthcare Facility, Quincy, MA after a period of declining January 21, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Bertha (White) and John Marenghi. She grew up in Boston and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School. Loving wife for 63 years to the late Gerard (Jerry) Keefe they raised their family in Hough’s Neck, Quincy and retired to Eastham, MA.Marion will be lovingly remembered for the passion and the work ethic she brought to every aspect of her life. Be it as wife, mother, homemaker, etc. she led by example. She and Jerry grew up during the Depression and WWII era as children and then young adults. The strategies their families used to survive difficult times became the model for our family. As wife, mother of five, and homemaker she set the pace early every morning preparing her family for work or school. After the birth of her fourth child adversity struck. An ear infection resisted treatment, put her back in the hospital, and ultimately caused major hearing loss that changed her life forever. A phone call, a dinner table conversation was never the same again. She recovered, returned home, and learned to manage her handicap. The family grew with the birth of another child. Her determination to recover her health and role in the family through exercise and a healthy diet became a staple of her daily routine for the remainder of her long life. Her children grew up and moved on, and she began a ten-year career as a bank teller at Quincy Savings Bank. She took pride in her work and her abilities in the business realm. She later worked as a home health care aide for elder services on the Cape, served as a volunteer at the National Seashore Beaches, as well as the Eastham Thrift Shop. She is survived by her five children: Mark Keefe and wife Janice (Grant) of Quincy, MA; Marianne Keefe Reardon of Plymouth, MA; Lorraine Keefe of Plymouth, MA; Gerard Keefe and wife Lisa (Younie) of Manchester, NH; Jeffrey Keefe and wife Stacey (Ryan) of Plymouth MA. Nine grandchildren: Ryan Keefe, Courtney Keefe and partner Zeon Joseph, Casey (Reardon) Romanos and husband Drew, Kirby Reardon, Jesse Reardon, MacKenzie (Keefe) White and husband Andrew, Joshua Keefe, Amilynn Keefe, Amanda Keefe and Ella Ryan. Two great-grandchildren Charlee Sue Reardon, and Riley Romanos. Also survived by brother-in-law Raymon Keefe and wife Virginia (Spadorcia) of Hough’s Neck Quincy, MA.
