Marion E. Finster, age 80, of Lee Center, passed away peacefully, March 15, 2013, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healtcare Center.
She was born May 12, 1932,in Camden, a daughter of Ervin and Eva Tanner Sutter, and graduated as valedictorian of her class at Camden High School. Marion was united in marriage to John P. Finster on May 16, 1958, at the Camden United Methodist Church, a loving marriage of 54 years. She formerly worked in Camden, at Rochester Shoe Tree, Mystic Stamp Co, and Camden Country Cleaners, later at Rome City Cleaners and retired as the supervisor of Laundry at the Broadacres Nursing Facility in Utica.
Marion had many interests and hobbies; among her favorites were playing cards and dancing. She especially loved entertaining her family during the holidays.
Marion is survived by her loving husband, John; a sister, Flora Hurlbut of Syracuse; sisters in law and a brother in law, Virginia Prosser of Rome, Pauline Koster of Rome, and Paul and Viola Finster of Rome; and many special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Lucille Eychner, Ethel Tanner and Irene LaLonde, and two brothers, George and Arthur Sutter.
