Marion Kern Dwyer, 90, of Berkeley Twp., NJ died on Thursday October 3, 2019 at her home. Marion was born and raised in New Providence NJ. She was the daughter of Harry and Marie Kern, long time owners of Harry’s service station on Springfield Ave. After graduating high school, Marion worked for the Summit Herald newspaper. Marion was an avid bowler, and met the love of her life, Donald, who at the time was the owner of the Berkeley Heights bowling alley. They married in 1956 and moved to Morris Plains, NJ in 1960 where she raised her family for 30 years.
She was an active member in the community supporting her children’s activities. Marion moved to Berkeley Twp., NJ in 1990. She was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church in Berkeley Twp., NJ. Marion was a great mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved taking care of her family. She also enjoyed knitting and loved gardening and flowers. Marion is predeceased by her parents and her brother Harry Kern.
Surviving is her husband Donald Dwyer of Berkeley Twp., NJ; her children Glenn Dwyer and his wife Sally of Bethlehem, PA, Douglas Dwyer and his wife Jacqueline of Oak Ridge, NJ and Alison Flieger and her husband Robert of Suwanee, GA; her brother Donald Kern of New Providence, NJ; her 8 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.
